Paid $80 for a 'rare' monstera albo cutting, and it was a total dud
Back in April I bought a single node cutting off an auction site from a seller with great reviews. The photos looked perfect and the price seemed fair for the variegation. After six weeks of waiting in moist perlite, it finally pushed out a root, then the new leaf came in fully green, no white at all. I messaged the seller and they said variegation is never guaranteed, which they did mention in tiny print. I basically paid $80 for a plant that looks like any ordinary monstera from the big box store. Has anyone else gotten burned by these expensive cuttings, and do you think sellers should be more honest about the gamble?
