My new plant light cost me $150 and I'm not sure it was worth it

I bought a fancy full spectrum grow light for my indoor herb garden about three months ago. My basil and thyme did get a bit bushier, but my parsley still looks pretty sad. For that much money, I was hoping for a bigger change, especially since my sunny kitchen window wasn't cutting it. Has anyone else tried a specific light that really turned things around for a certain plant?

$150 for a light? That's a car payment.

My cheap LED shop light from the hardware store did more for my mint than any fancy grow light ever did.

Just a heads up - mint is actually one of those plants that'll grow under pretty much anything, even a dim bulb in a dark corner (ask me how I know, my roommate's mint took over the whole kitchen window sill). But for other herbs like basil or rosemary, that cheap shop light might not cut it because they need stronger light to stay bushy. Not saying you're wrong about the price tag on fancy lights - they're way overhyped. Just that mint is kind of a special case where it doesn't mind being a little neglected light-wise.
