My $40 'rare' cactus was just a painted grocery store plant

Bought it online from a seller with fancy photos. The color washed off in two weeks, just a normal green cactus underneath. Anyone know a real place to get cool colored succulents?

Forty dollars for a painted cactus is just wrong. They went to the trouble of taking fancy photos to trick people. It's one thing to sell a normal plant, but to paint it and call it rare is a straight up scam. Real colored succulents exist, but they get their hues from sun stress or special breeding, not craft paint. That seller should be ashamed of themselves.

Forget the paint, that stuff blocks light so the plant can't even photosynthesize properly. It's basically a slow death sentence they're charging extra for.
