PSA: stop using PVA glue on every single spine

Last Tuesday at a guild meeting in Portland, a guy showed me his 15 year old restoration with bone-dry PVA that was peeling off the spine. Everyone swears by it for speed but it doesn't age well. Why is nobody talking about wheat paste for historical work anymore? Has anyone else seen PVA failures on older pieces?
