Pro tip: lost a whole run of 40 case bindings to grain direction and I want to scream
Spent all of last week sewing and gluing a run of 40 journals for a small shop in Portland, only to watch every single cover warp like a potato chip the second the glue dried. Turns out I cut the boards with the grain running the wrong way across the spine, which I should have caught after 6 years of doing this, and now I am out about $200 in board and cloth. How do you all mark your boards so you stop making this same dumb mistake when you are rushing?
