Propping them up at an angle while drying fixed everything.

That "propping them up at an angle" trick saved my friend's last batch of notebooks, she was ready to give up before that.

Yeah, that angle thing is key... I started using a wire cooling rack from my kitchen, the kind for cookies. Lets air hit every part of the cover so it dries even. @emma_young would probably get a kick out of how many kitchen tools end up in my craft room now.
