Can we talk about storing book cloth in old cereal boxes?

It sounds silly, but it keeps the dust out and organizes by color. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

My friend Sarah runs a tiny bookbinding setup from her apartment and she swears by this method! She had fabric scraps everywhere until she started sorting them into empty cereal boxes. Now her whole closet shelf is a neat row of colorful boxes, and she can just pull out the blue one when she needs it. The best part is everything stays totally clean and flat. She even labels the ends with a marker so there's no guessing. It looked weird at first but her system actually works really well!

My aunt does the same thing with oatmeal containers, @the_karen.

Cereal boxes seem like a disaster waiting to happen. Cardboard attracts pests like silverfish and roaches, which would ruin your fabric. The flimsy material also offers zero protection from moisture or crushing if anything gets stacked on top. You're better off spending a few bucks on clear plastic bins you can actually seal shut.
