Rant: skipping the character sheets saved our book club's last meeting
Our group spent 45 minutes arguing over whether Frodo was a coward last month, so I tried having everyone come with just 3 bullet points on the main theme instead of full notes. We actually finished the debate in under an hour and nobody stormed out. Has anyone else ditched the standard discussion questions and had better luck?

My friend tried no character sheets once and half the group showed up without reading the book.

Read somewhere that asking players to make sheets at session zero helps avoid that kind of chaos.
