PSA: Our club's 'The Great Gatsby' vote went from 2 to 8 people wanting to discuss it after a member shared a 1920s article.

The article showed how the book was reviewed when it first came out, which made a bunch of us way more curious. Has your group ever had a historical detail totally change how you view a book pick?

That old review made me see the book completely differently.

Yeah, that "see the book completely differently" feeling is so real... I had that happen with a movie review once. Honestly @brown.susan, I started keeping a note on my phone for stuff like that, just a line about what the review said and why it changed my mind. Makes it easier to remember that new view later.
