Just realized I wasted $50 on a 'book club in a box' subscription for a year
Honestly, it was a curated set of questions and snacks, but our group always ended up talking about something else entirely. Ngl, I could have just printed discussion guides online for free. Anyone else find those pre-packaged kits totally miss the point?

Ugh, tell me about it. I got roped into a wine and paint night kit that was the same way. It came with these tiny bottles of paint and a cheap brush, and the whole thing felt so forced. We just opened our own wine and talked over the dumb video. The box just sat there making me feel dumb for buying it. It totally kills the real fun of just hanging out.

Exactly, those kits miss the whole point. They sell you on the idea of a fun, easy activity, but the cheap tools just make you feel like you failed at a craft project. The real memory is just sharing a drink and a laugh with friends, not trying to follow some stiff video tutorial.

Yeah, that's the worst part, it turns a chill night into homework. Next time, just grab a few decent brushes from a craft store and some basic paints. Skip the kit entirely and put on some music. The goal is to have something to do with your hands while you talk, not to make a perfect picture.
