Just realized how book club debates have shaped my reading habits
I used to skim books fast just to finish them. Now I take notes to prep for our talks, which makes me enjoy the stories a lot more.

Yeah that happened to me with movies after joining a film group. I used to just watch for the plot. Now I catch small stuff, like how a scene is lit or why a character wears a certain color, because I know we'll pick it apart later. It makes you see the whole thing differently, like you're solving a puzzle. Not just consuming it.
