Just overheard someone in a bookstore say they judge a book by its chapter titles

Was browsing at Barnes and Noble yesterday and this girl told her friend she skips books if the chapter titles are boring. Never thought about that before but it made me look at my shelf and yeah, the books I love have clever or weird chapter names. The ones with just numbers feel kinda lazy now. Anyone else pay attention to that stuff or am I overthinking it?

My buddy Mark picked up a book at a thrift store once called "The Stench of Honolulu" just because the first chapter was titled "The Cockroach That Would Be King." Turned out to be a really weird comedy about a guy trying to steal a sacred monkey. He said the chapter names were literally the only reason he bought it and now it's one of his favorites. So I guess some people really do judge books that way.

Hugo37's friend sounds like my buddy who bought a book solely for a chapter called "The Night the Hamster Died.
