Unpopular opinion: that hot pink and neon orange combo in the bike shop flyer actually worked better than their usual boring blues.
Had a Tuesday where a client insisted on hot pink and neon orange for their shop flyer in Akron, I argued against it for 20 minutes, and then it got more walk-ins than any other ad they ran last year.

That combo is way more eye catching than people admit. Good design is about getting attention first, not just looking clean. Sometimes the "ugly" colors are actually the smartest move.

My buddy wore that exact combo to a coffee shop and got stopped twice.
