That 'smoky purple' wall in my shop started a whole fight with my painter
I had my garage bay walls repainted last month and asked for a dark smoky purple to hide grease marks. My painter kept pushing back saying it would look like a bruise next to the safety yellow stripes I wanted on the columns. We went with it anyway and honestly he was half right, the purple picks up every bit of dust and makes the yellow look like it's buzzing. But the weird part is customers keep commenting on it, one guy said it feels like a race shop from the 80s. Has anyone else dealt with a color that technically clashes but somehow adds character to a workspace?
