Question about hot pink and lime green in a restaurant sign

I run a small diner in Portland. Last week I painted the new sign hot pink with lime green lettering. Thought it'd look edgy and fun. Two regulars walked in and said it made their eyes hurt. One guy actually turned around and left. Was that combo too much or did I just hit a nerve with older folks? Some customers love it, some hate it. What's your take on clashing neon combos for brick and mortar spots?

You ever notice how people pick weird hills to die on? I saw a guy walk out of a coffee shop once because they didn't have his preferred brand of oat milk, like the whole experience was ruined before he even sat down. It's almost like folks are looking for reasons to feel offended or inconvenienced these days, making a big deal out of small stuff that used to just get a shrug.
