PSA: I spent 3 hours on a mustard and hot pink flyer before I saw it was never the pink
Last month I did a flyer for a taco spot in Reno and the owner wanted mustard yellow and hot pink, right? I fought those two colors for 3 hours. I tried like six different pinks, dropped the yellow way down, added a cream in between, nothing felt right and I was ready to blame the whole combo. Then around hour 4 I turned off the pink layer to show him it was the problem and the yellow still looked bad next to the white. It was the background all along. I swapped the white for a soft gray and the mustard and pink suddenly sang together like they were always meant to be. I felt so dumb, lol, 3 hours gone because I never checked the one thing I wasn't looking at. Now I flip layers off early on every clash just to make sure. What's the dumbest thing that ended up not being the actual problem on one of your color scrambles?
