Neon orange and navy in a dentist office? Nobody saw it coming

I do interior paint consults and last month a client in Boise let me try something risky. Their waiting room was this sad beige box, and I convinced them to do a deep navy base with a neon orange accent wall behind the front desk. I was so sure it was gonna clash hard, but the daylight in that room actually made the orange pop without screaming. I read later that high contrast combos like this boost perceived energy in public spaces, found that stat on some design psychology blog. The receptionist said people now compliment the room instead of staring at their phones. Never thought I'd defend orange and navy together, but here I am. Has anyone else tried a color pairing that looked insane on paper but worked in a real room?
