My neon green and hot pink living room got called a 'warning sign' by my mom
She said it looked like a highlighter exploded, but I think it makes the space feel alive - has anyone else had family hate their color choices even though you love the combo?

My mom said the same thing about my orange and turquoise kitchen. She actually called it "aggressive" which I thought was funny since it's just paint colors. I do wonder though, is it really a warning sign or just something that makes you happy in your own space? Maybe families just react strong to anything that breaks away from beige and gray. Your combo actually sounds fun and energetic, way better than another boring neutral room.

... yep went through the same thing when I painted my hallway a deep eggplant purple and my sister said it looked like a bruise. I ended up adding warm gold frames and a cream rug to soften it a bit, and eventually she admitted it actually looked cozy. Sometimes families just need time to see the whole vision, you know?
