My living room looked like a clown explosion after I went wild with orange and purple paint
I was in my apartment in Austin last Saturday, tried to do an accent wall with this neon orange I found at a thrift store, and the purple furniture I had made it clash so bad my roommate walked in and asked if we were hosting a circus. Anyone else ever grab a bold color off the shelf without testing it first and instantly regret it?

Okay so here's the thing nobody's talking about - that thrift store paint might be WAY older than you think. Old paint can dry with a totally different sheen or undertone than what it looked like wet, especially if it was sitting in a hot storage unit for years. I had a friend grab a "vintage burgundy" from a garage sale and it dried looking like pinkish mud because the binders had broken down. Might not be your color choice that's the problem, it could be the paint itself going bad on you.

Man that "pinkish mud" story is rough, feel for your friend.
