My boss called my orange and teal logo 'aggressive' and she was right
I spent 2 months on this branding project for a coffee shop in Austin, full saturation orange with teal accents. My boss pulled me aside on Tuesday and said the combo felt like a warning sign, not a welcome mat. I swapped the orange for a burnt sienna and muted the teal to a dusty petrol, same clash but softer. Now I check contrast and mood before I pick any bold pairing. Has anyone else had a client or boss kill their favorite combo only to make the design way better?

It felt like a warning sign, not a welcome mat" hit me. That's such a perfect way to put it. I've had that same gut punch where you realize the client's right and you were just too stuck on the idea. Your burnt sienna and dusty petrol fix sounds way more inviting, honestly. It's crazy how one shade can flip the whole mood. Good on you for catching it early.
