My bathroom vanity went orange and teal, my contractor thought I lost it

Redid a half bath in Phoenix last month and told the guy I wanted a burnt orange vanity with teal grout on the subway tile. He kept asking if I was sure, even called his wife over to look at the sample board. But after it was done, the combo actually makes the small room feel warm and open, not loud like I expected. Has anyone else pushed a color pairing that everyone warned you against and it ended up working out?

Orange and teal together is a bold swing, but it sounds like it hit. That burnt orange really does warm up a small space when you lean into it. Trust your gut over a contractor's doubts, they see safe colors all day.
