A print guy in Tulsa told me my red and green combo was 'a Christmas ad gone wrong'
I was picking up business cards last Tuesday and the guy at the counter pointed at my proof and just said that, flat out. I had picked a warm red and a bright grass green for the logo thinking it looked bold, and honestly in the shop light it did look like a holiday sale sign. I brought the proof home, stuck it on the fridge, and now I can't unsee it. Has anyone recovered a red and green palette like this, or do I just start over with something else?
Made that exact mistake with a red and green logo a few years back, and my own wife asked why I was advertising a holiday sale in July. The fix that worked for me was shifting the green to something more olive or the red toward a brick tone, which kept the bold look without the Christmas vibe. Swap one of the two colors and you can save the whole thing.
