Worst week in 12 years at the Port of Houston, or was it my best?

Last Monday we had a 40-foot tank section land off-kilter on the skids at the Port of Houston, and my crew spent 6 hours trying to level it before a crane operator named Dale suggested we just flip the whole thing around. That saved us but then Tuesday a torch regulator blew out mid-cut, spraying sparks near a gas line, and we had to evacuate the bay for 45 minutes. I keep thinking that week was a disaster, but the teamwork afterwards was unreal, we fixed three other alignment issues we'd been putting off for months. Would you trade a terrible week for that kind of crew bonding, or is it just luck when it turns out okay?

Used to think a bad week was just a bad week, and you push through it alone. But seeing how your crew pulled together on those other fixes makes me wonder if the rough days are what actually build the trust. Sounds like you got something real out of it, even if you wouldn't want to repeat the experience.
