Welding rod storage temps, I was doing it wrong for years
I read the Lincoln handbook last week and found out low-hydrogen rods need to stay above 40 degrees F or they soak up moisture way faster than I thought. I always just left my rod oven off over the weekend and figured it was fine, but now I'm wondering how many jobs I ran with wet 7018s. Anyone else skip the oven rule and see porosity they couldn't explain?
