Switching to a 3/16 rod on that rework in Gary saved me 2 hours per pass
I was fighting porosity on some 1/4 inch plate at the Gary job last month and kept bumping amps up like an idiot. A guy on the crew told me to drop to 3/16 and slow my travel down instead, and the pinholes disappeared on the next 6 passes. Anyone else got a rod size change that fixed porosity when more heat did not?
