Switched from chalk lines to a laser level for vertical seams after a job in Kansas City

Used to snap chalk lines on every tank wall and hope the wind didn't mess me up, but now I run a laser level for vertical seams since a foreman in KC showed me his setup back in March, and honestly the time I save on redo work is wild, has anyone else made that jump or still trust the old string and chalk?

That "hope the wind didn't mess me up" part hits way too close to home. I made the switch last summer after fighting a breezy day on a grain silo and snapping three crooked lines in a row. The laser just sits there and stays true, no guessing games, no wiping chalk dust off my arms every five minutes. I still keep the old chalk box in my truck for quick rough layout, but for anything vertical where the seam has to look clean, I'm never going back. Honestly, it's one of those upgrades where you wonder why you waited so long to try it.
