Shoutout to the $80 fire blanket that saved my tail last Tuesday

I was welding up a steam drum patch at the old power plant in Gary. Sparks landed on some dried grease I didn't see and poof. Grabbed that blanket I bought off McMaster-Carr and threw it over the spot before anything caught good. Thing paid for itself in about 3 seconds. Do you guys keep fire blankets handy on site or just rely on extinguishers?

Honestly, that's terrifying, glad you caught it in time.

Yeah, "terrifying" is the exact right word for it. I had a similar scare last year when my bank flagged a charge and I realized someone had cloned my card from a gas station pump. It took weeks to sort out the fraud report and get my money back.
