Saw a guy at the plant in Gary purge a boiler with the vent valve still closed
That drum had 80 psi in it and no way out, and he was standing right next to the handhole. What's the closest call you've seen with guys skipping the vent step?

Funny how the vent valve thing shows up everywhere, not just boilers. Guys skip the one small step that lets the pressure out because it feels like a waste of time, then act shocked when something blows. Same reason people never crack a window before painting or burp a radiator cap before opening it.
