Prepping new pipe vs reusing old flange positions, night and day
Fixed a feedwater line down at the Port of Houston last week, decided to lay out fresh pipe instead of trusting the old flanges that had been walked on for years. The new fit-up took maybe 3 hours and sealed first try, while the old method would've burned a full shift fighting misalignment. Anyone else stop reusing existing bolt holes when the line's seen serious heat cycles?
