I finally ditched the fancy digital level on site
Spent 2 days chasing a plumb line on a tank job in Gary because my digital level kept drifting, then an old timer handed me a $9 torpedo level and it was square in 20 minutes. Anyone else found the basic tools beat the high tech stuff when it comes to rough work?

Watched my buddy tear his hair out on a retaining wall job last spring. He had some laser level that kept giving him false readings cause the sun was hitting the sensor wrong. After an hour he chucked it in the truck and grabbed a beat up 6 inch spirit level from his grandpa's old toolbox. Wall came out dead straight, he even checked it with a string line later just to be sure. That cheap level has been his go to ever since, the laser collects dust in the case now.
