Three years ago I quit using flux on my forge welds and my success rate went up
Everyone at my local guild in Akron swore by borax flux for every weld, but after 6 months of failed scarf joints I tried clean dry joints with a wire brush and kerosene wipe instead and now I hit 9 out of 10 welds on my first heat, so what am I missing that makes flux still worth the mess for you guys?
