Honestly, I used to think a quick trip to Home Depot fixed everything too. But seeing how that barber and scrap yard guys fix old stuff instead of buying new really made me pause. Now I'm wondering if the real skill is knowing when not to run to the store.

That scrap yard wisdom is everywhere if you listen for it. My barber says a real cutter never buys new clippers, just fixes the old ones. Feels like a quiet push back against all the new, shiny stuff we're told to want.
