Just hit 1000 hand-forged hooks and learned something weird

I was counting up my inventory last night and realized I've made exactly 1000 hooks since I started blacksmithing 3 years ago. The weird part is that hooks number 1 and 1000 both failed the same way - the tip curled wrong. Guess I still got room to improve. Anyone else track odd milestones like this?

Did your friend ever figure out why both hooks curled the same way? Sounds like some kind of weird pattern.

You're talking about that weird hook thing, right? Honestly I think people overanalyze this stuff. It's probably just cheaper metal or something, not some big mystery. Like, my kids have these toy fishing rods that bend every which way and nobody's doing a deep dive on why the plastic hooks curl. I'd bet your buddy's friend just got two hooks from a bad batch or whatever. Not everything has to be some grand pattern, sometimes stuff is just broken.
