Watched the first 3 episodes of The Bear and had to stop, too much anxiety for a Tuesday night

Gotta say, that show picks up the pace even more in season 2. Episode 7 "Fishes" is basically an hour of pure family drama anxiety, full of yelling and burnt dishes. If you thought the first episodes were rough, that one's a whole different level. I actually had to pause it twice just to breathe. But honestly the payoff is worth it if you can push through, the way they build up the characters makes the chaos feel real.

The friend who recommended The Bear to me warned me that the first few episodes are like a panic attack on screen. I remember reading an interview with the creator where he said they wanted the kitchen to feel like a pressure cooker, and boy did they succeed. The constant yelling and chopping sounds really get into your head after a while. I stuck with it because everyone kept saying how good the later seasons are, but it never really lets up on the tension. Some shows are just better saved for a weekend afternoon when you can handle the stress.
