My coworker called 'The Bear' a perfect show and I had to bite my tongue
He said the stress and yelling in the kitchen scenes were 'so real', but I think the constant screaming makes it exhausting to watch more than one episode. I tried to binge three episodes in a row and felt like I needed a nap. Does anyone else find shows with that much tension hard to marathon?

Totally get what you mean. That show is like being stuck in a bad shift with no break. It's not just the yelling, it's the constant feeling that everything is about to fall apart. I watch it in small doses because it feels like work, not fun. Calling it perfect misses how draining that style can be for a viewer. Some of us want to relax when we turn on the TV.

That "feels like work, not fun" part is so true. My friend Mark tried to binge it and said he needed a nap after two episodes, it was that stressful. You're right on the money, @ben_shah93.

Okay but "feels like work" is a bit much. It's still a TV show, you can just turn it off. Lily_young59's friend needing a nap sounds like a him problem, not a show problem. The stress is the whole point, it's supposed to make you feel that tension. If you want to relax, watch something else, but calling it draining just means it's doing its job well.
