I used to think slow-burn dramas were boring until my sister made me watch The Americans

She sat me down and said you're missing the whole point of character development. I gave it three episodes and by the time they got to season 2 episode 5, I was hooked. Has anyone else had a family member change your mind about a show you dismissed too quickly?

My sister pulled the same thing on me with Better Call Saul. I thought it was just a spinoff cash grab but she made me stick through season 1 and now I think it's better than Breaking Bad in a lot of ways. Give it at least half a season before you decide, your mileage may vary but it worked for me.

Made my brother sit through the first three episodes of The Wire three times before it clicked, now it's his favorite show ever. You gotta give a slow burn series at least those first few hours to lay down the foundation. What's the longest you've stuck with a show before it finally grabbed you?
