I finally stopped skipping the first episode of a show after what happened with that new Netflix series
I was at my buddy's place in Phoenix last Friday and he put on that new crime drama everyone's talking about. He told me I had to watch the first episode and not skip it like I always do, turns out the whole season setup is in that first 20 minutes. Has anyone else ruined a show for themselves by jumping ahead?

Black mirror did the same thing to me. Skipped the first episode of season 3 and had no clue what was happening.

Hold on a second, that's NOT quite right. The first episode of season 3 is actually called "Nosedive" which is that social media rating one with Bryce Dallas Howard. It's a GREAT episode and totally standalone, you could watch it without seeing anything else. Season 3 actually dropped all at once and every episode is its own story with new characters, so there's no real "first" episode that you have to watch for context. You might be mixing it up with something like the older seasons where they had a few connected bits, but even then most episodes stand alone. If you skipped the first one of season 3 you just missed a really good one, not the whole show's plot.
