Heard my neighbors fighting over a show's ending and had to see for myself

So, I live in a pretty quiet street, but a while back, I caught my next-door neighbors having a big argument about the last episode of 'Stranger Things'. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me, but I hadn't watched it at all. I figured I should check it out and ended up binging the whole thing over a couple weekends. It was wild how much I got into it, like forgetting to eat sometimes. Now, I join in when they chat about it, and it's cool how a show can get everyone talking. Has anyone else picked up a series because people around them were into it? I'm thinking this might be a common thing now with all the streaming options.
