Warning: I used a zip tie to fix a slipping seatpost and it actually worked
Had a customer bring in a carbon frame with a seatpost that kept slipping, even with the right paste and torque. Everyone said to just buy a new post or shim it, but I was out of the right size shim. As a last try, I put a single, thin zip tie around the post end, cut the tail flush, and greased it. That was 6 months ago and the guy just came back for a tune-up, said it hasn't moved a millimeter. Has anyone else used a hack like this on carbon, or is it just asking for trouble down the line?

Honestly, what did he use, cheap plastic from a dollar store? Tbh I've seen phone cases crack from just being in a pocket wrong. My cousin's shattered because he sat down too fast. Some stuff just isn't built to last.

I've had the same Spigen case for three years and it's still fine. Maybe it's just me but some brands do hold up.
