Rant: I swore by never lubing a chain on the bike, a shop guy in Dayton set me straight
For years I ran my chains dry because I thought lube just grabbed grit and chewed up cassettes. A mechanic at a shop in Dayton watched me hand him a bone dry chain and said that's why I was eating through 3 chains a season, then showed me a worn pin under his bench light. Now I do a light wipe and a drop per link after every wet ride, and my last chain lasted 2,400 miles instead of 800. Anyone else change their whole lube routine after one conversation?
