Pro tip: Stop buying $40 headset presses, a threaded rod and two sockets did the same job
I dropped $45 on a Park Tool headset press two years ago and used it maybe four times on my own builds, then last month I watched a guy at the co-op in Portland press in a headset with a $6 threaded rod, two washers, and a pair of 32mm sockets in about 90 seconds. Honestly it worked just as clean and I've been kicking myself over that $45 ever since, though I get that a real press feels nicer in your hands. Anyone else feel like half the specialty tools in our boxes are just convenience buys we could skip?
