Pro tip: I read a thread about using a 10mm wrench to fix a stripped pedal thread
It was on a forum for vintage bike repair, and the guy said he used a standard 10mm wrench as a makeshift tap to clean out the threads on an old Raleigh frame. I tried it on a 1970s Peugeot last week and it actually worked, saving me from having to re-tap the whole bottom bracket. Has anyone else used a simple tool in a clever way to save a repair?

That 10mm wrench trick is a lifesaver! I've been there with old threads, and that feeling when it actually works is the best.

Remember when you could fix a loose radio knob by wedging a matchbook behind it? I had an old pickup where the heater control would just spin. A bit of folded cardboard jammed in there got me through two winters. Sometimes the simplest fix feels like a secret victory.

Ugh, that matchbook trick brings back memories!
I had an old Volvo where the fan speed knob did the same thing.
Packed it with a popsicle stick and duct tape.
@jake_mason30 is right, the 10mm wrench trick is gold.
Tried it on a stripped seatpost binder bolt last month.
Felt like a genius for a whole ten minutes.
