Guy at the co-op talked me out of using dry lube on everything
I been using dry lube on all my chains for years cause I hate the grime. But this old mechanic at the bike co-op in Denver told me dry lube is crap for wet conditions and just washes off after one ride, and it got me thinking about how much I ride in the rain vs the dust. He showed me his chain after a wet ride using wet lube and it was like night and day. Anyone else get stubborn about something simple like lube and realize you been doing it wrong?

Wet lube is the way to go if you ride in rain at all. Dry lube works great for dust but that stuff just disappears the second water hits it.

My buddy uses dry lube on his gravel bike and every time we hit a wet patch he's just coasting with a squeaky chain. It's like sunscreen at the beach, you always think you're fine until you're not.
