Overheard a guy at the print counter say 'rough is the point' and it stuck with me
I was picking up some proofs at a copy place on Clark St last week and this older guy next to me was printing a stack of mockups for a cafe menu. The person behind the counter asked if he wanted to fix the crooked border and he just said 'rough is the point, it's a draft.' I had been sitting on my own practice project for 3 weeks because the spacing on my phone mockup felt off by like 4 pixels and I kept tweaking it instead of showing anyone. Hearing him say that made me realize I was polishing a thing that only needs to be seen, not shipped. I went home and posted my rough wireframe set the same night, crooked borders and all. Got 5 replies in a day, and 2 of them pointed out stuff I never would have caught by staring at it alone. Turns out nobody cares about the 4 pixels when the idea is readable. Do you all show stuff while it still feels messy, or do you clean it up first?
