My first portfolio case study got torn apart in a portfolio review and I'm honestly not sure what to fix first
So I finally put together my first real case study for a fake coffee shop app, spent about three weeks on it, and showed it at a local design meetup in San Jose last Thursday. This guy who's been doing UX for like 12 years looked at it for maybe 90 seconds and asked me where my research was, and I realized I had skipped straight to the pretty screens. He also pointed out that my before and after flow made no sense because I never showed what the original problem actually looked like. I had one screen labeled "problem" that was just a gray box with some lorem ipsum in it, which, yeah, that's rough in hindsight. I went home and stared at it for an hour and honestly wanted to delete the whole thing. Now I'm stuck on whether to rebuild it from the research up or just patch the obvious holes and move on to a new project. Anyone been through this and have a sense of which parts of a case study reviewers care about most, because I clearly guessed wrong on all of them.
