My brisket probe just quit right in the middle of a cook

I was about four hours into a 12-pound brisket yesterday when my Thermoworks Smoke unit went dark. The receiver just stopped getting a signal from the pit. I had to run outside every 20 minutes to check the grill temp with an old analog dial thermometer for the next six hours. It threw my whole timing off because I was scared to open the lid too much. Has anyone found a wireless thermometer that holds up better in summer heat?

Ugh that's the WORST feeling. My old Maverick did the same thing last July, just fried in the sun.

Read an article saying car interiors can hit 150 degrees in summer heat. That kind of temperature just wrecks electronics and plastics over time. Parking in the shade or using a sunshade seems like a must.
