Had to choose between my brisket and my backyard shade on Saturday
I picked the brisket over grabbing a new umbrella for my patio table, and now my neighbor's got a direct view of me sweating over a 12-pound packer at noon in Phoenix.

I read somewhere that in Phoenix the shade moves about 15 feet in an hour (which, if true, means you're doomed no matter what). @oscarm24, you're right that everyone's sweating, but there's a difference between normal "hey it's hot out" sweat and the full-on "I'm standing in direct sun over a 200 degree metal box" look I had going on. Next time I'll just set up early and chase the shade with my grill, I guess.

Man, are you really worried about your neighbor seeing you sweat? That's like half the fun of cooking outside in the summer. Everyone's sweating, it's not a big deal. Plus, if you're making brisket, they're probably just jealous they didn't think of it first. Just throw on a hat and own it.
