Was dead wrong about clipper oil brands for 6 years

I used to buy the cheapest clipper oil I could find at the beauty supply store near my shop in Nashville. Figured oil is oil, right? Then my Andis Master started sounding rough after about 8 months of daily use. Took it apart and found gunk built up inside the blade assembly. Switched to a mid-range brand last February and the motor runs quieter and I'm not replacing blades every quarter. Anyone else find out cheap oil shortens clipper life?

@wendysmith man you got me there. 8 months felt like a solid run until I realized I was basically running my clippers on motor oil from a dollar store. The noise alone should have been my first clue like a sad little lawnmower dying on me. Now I feel dumb for thinking all oils were the same secret sauce. My blades used to get dull so fast I thought I was just hard on them. Turns out cheap oil was basically grinding grit into everything. Lesson learned the hard way with my wallet.

Just lucky it lasted 8 months using the cheap stuff.
