Vent: Guy kept moving his head while I was doing his fade

Had a customer last Wednesday who would not stop tilting his head to talk to his buddy in the chair next to him. I had to stop like 4 times and ask him to hold still, otherwise that fade line would have been all over the place. How do you guys handle folks who just can't sit still?

Respectfully, that's just part of cutting hair (people move, it happens).

Right, moving a little is one thing, but tilting your whole head to have a full conversation while someone is holding clippers to your neck is a whole different level. Seth is right that people move, but there's a big difference between a natural twitch and someone treating your station like a social hour. At some point you gotta decide if you're a barber or a babysitter. I've had to literally put a hand on their shoulder and say "final pass here, if you move we're starting over" and that usually does the trick. When the fine line between a crisp fade and a total redo gets blurred by a chatty client, how do you keep your cool without snapping?
