Tried the old barber trick of using shaving cream on my clippers to clean them mid-cut

Had a guy with super thick curly hair yesterday in Denver and my clippers started bogging down after 3 minutes so I sprayed some barbicide foam on the blades while running them and it cleared out the gunk in like 10 seconds flat, anyone else use weird stuff to keep their clippers from dying on you?

Oh man, I've been there. Worked on a buddy's matted coat in the shop and just hit the blades with a little oil mid cut to keep things moving. That barbicide soak does the trick though, stuff cuts through anything.

Oh man I learned that one the hard way too. I had this one dude with super thick wavy hair and my clippers just started screaming at me halfway through his fade. I ended up grabbing some of that old school Andis Cool Care spray and it worked way better than I expected. Like it cleaned the blades up and cooled them down at the same time. Now I keep a bottle handy just for those rough cuts where the hair is really packing in there.
